Industries

At Cognovis Group, LLC we work with any industry that sends personalized mail to people, but most often we work with:

  • Insurance —  Property & Casualty or Life
  • Managed Health Care —  health insurance, MediCare, MedicAid, Workers Comp
  • Banks or Financial Services
  • Utilities —  power, telephone, cable, etc.

Since 2002 we’ve helped more than a dozen Fortune 1000 companies (we help smaller companies, too) in these industries gain a big advantage over the competition — putting managers back in control with faster response and a smoother document process.

Common terms for the specialty areas within these industries are:

  • Benefits Administration — prescription drug programs, health management
  • Correspondence — business letters and notifications
  • Direct Mail — marketing and sales solicitations intended to elicit a response
  • Fulfillment — collecting and packaging multiple pieces into a “kit” for customers or prospects
  • In-plant — a captive production facility, owned by the client company, that provides any or all of the services in this list
  • Legal and Regulatory — contracts, policies, and required notifications
  • Outsourcing —using a contract supplier to provide one or more of the services in this list
  • POD — print on demand or digital print
  • Print/Mail — a general use term that encompasses all the functions in this list
  • Transactional Print — statements and bills
  • Transpromo — statements and bills containing data-driven ads specific to the customer
  • Variable Data — generally a marketing piece with multiple “chunks” of copy or art that change based on the recipient, also called 1-to-1 marketing

Over the past 20 years we have been inside the operations of more than 200 printing and print/mail facilities… studying methods, manpower, machines, and materials. Our experience covers almost every application of these specialties for our selected industries.

There is a normal 4-7 year cycle where business systems and processes that drive these areas grow through accretion (a fancy word that means “stuff gets tacked onto the end”), and negotiation as departments, products, and services change. And that’s before even considering how emerging technologies can affect you.

All this change can make for clunky operations. Think how your computer runs after two years of adding and removing software, files, and data… If left long enough you can even develop business “crashes” — slowing your business and irritating both customers and employees.

If you’re feeling a pinch in any of these areas, or just think you should be getting more for your investment, contact us for a free, no pressure, 30-minute telephone conversation. We’ll answer your questions and let you know if we can help.
